Craggy Pinnacle, on the Blue Ridge Parkway is an incredible location with panoramic views for sunsets and sunrises. To the West is Mount Mitchell and Burnett Reservoir, to the East is Asheville and views of the Smoky Mountains all the way to Tennessee.

From the peak at 5,817 feet, we waited for the sun to set, and we weren’t fully sure what kind of sunset we would experience. As the sun got lower and finally dipped beneath the horizon, we were witness to the sky turning to fire, courtesy of far away clouds in the distance.

The fire in the sky, combined with the blue hue of the distant mountain valleys cloaked in mist, made for a scene I could only dream of. The colors lasted only a few moments, but are forever memorialized in this limited edition print.
