Sunset Through the Tree

from $125.00
Only 10 left in stock

When I get to a location I haven’t been before, I spend a lot of time looking for details. It’s easy to drive to overlooks and get a decent photo, but I am always on the lookout for something more.

When we arrived in Shenandoah, the weather conditions were looking ideal for a sunset photo. There was a wildfire somewhere way off to the Northwest, and the smoke combined with the higher level clouds promised a colorful end to the day.

A Park Ranger directed us to this trail, and we scouted it during the afternoon. While I found multiple potential spots, in the end I felt strongly that this tree would be the best opportunity.

When the sun start approaching the horizon, I knew I made the right choice. The sky put on a dazzling light show, contrasting perfectly with this tree.
